PINK AND GOLD EPOXY RESIN SERVING TRAY TUTORIAL!
Hey, guys adding some little hand cabinet handles to this round wooden platter. We got this at Lowe's, or home depot has the same thing, then filling in the top little screw holes with some putty or wood filler, whatever that was. I'm curious if my husband's doing it.
I painted it completely white, then to add some texture, I'm using henry's feather finish to add some bumpy texture in different spots. I like to mix it up and layer it out exactly where I want it, and I was trying to do this in a skinny layer. I could have done it even thinner; I didn't have to do much epoxy on top.
Then once that was dry, spray it with the metallic gold from rust oleum. I did go on the sides a little bit to cover part of the white, then spray-painted the bottom gold. You can skip this step, but I also wanted the base gold. Then I was starting to pour my epoxy. I began with sonority on the side of all the gold, then added a mixture of clear pearl mica powder and some translucent white.
Then I added some little pink rocks and poured them on my hot pink. It has some layers of different micas and colorants in it. I am curious to know how many different colors I used. Still, I layer them it gives them a little bit of depth and texture, then add a little bit more of those crystals, then add some white along the sides of the crystals or the pink where I felt needed a little bit more, then adding a second layer and spreading that all out.
Then after a third layer, I did one more layer. After that, I used this gold paint pen to draw lines between the colors and add some pretty shine. I love how these metallic markers give a little detail and a little more shine and help finish the look—then sanding off the bottom drips of epoxy.
Then, because I wanted it gold again, I taped it off and sprayed painted it gold, which is optional. I also liked the bottom to be finished, and then I did the tray. I thought it turned out beautiful, we used it for my daughter's third birthday, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Thank you guys much for watching. See you at the next one. Bye.
