Hey, guys. Today's tutorial is on my vintage autumn tumbler, and the saying here is not fall-related, but you could do something that's more fall-related. These colors scream fall. This is glitter from my new desert collection, paired with burgundy spray paint. I am obsessed with this cup. I am giving this cup away to one of you guys to enter all you're going to do subscribe to my channel, bring the little notification bell to leave a comment on this video, and join my Facebook group. It's glazed epoxy. I will have all the information down below for you guys, but I'm excited to give this to one of you. Look how pretty it is. I could stare at this forever. It's pretty. It's gorgeous. This is the vintage autumn cup, and if you are interested in seeing how I got this here, tumbler, then let's get into the video.
I started with a plain stainless tumbler. I already prepped it and got it ready to paint. This is rust-oleum metallic gold spray paint painting one coat of that. Once dry, I took some of my epoxy. This is artistry tumbler and art epoxy spreading that thin you want to get good coverage on your cup.
Once you have a nice thin layer, I'm sprinkling glitter from my new collection. This is dusk. You'll spread on the entire cup, get full coverage glitter, and don't turn it on. We want to let that dry and the next coat of epoxy. Then we'll spray another layer of metallic gold paint and let that dry again.
Then once that was dry we're doing we're going in with rust-oleaubergine. This gorgeous color pretty is such a pretty color. It's one of my favorites from rust-oleum. Then once that paint was dry, we took some acetone. We're going to give this a distressed look. First, I tried with this kind of firm bristle brush to get a different texture didn't do what I wanted, and it was making a mess. So I switched back to regular paper towels.
But you dip it in acetone and start rubbing away the paint wherever you would like on your cup. Keep going until you like how it looks. I wanted it to look a little more distressed, not like spots peeking through, but more variety of the whole outside of the cup seems distressed. I went around the top rim and the bottom edge to have the glitter show through there, but doing the gold spray paint underneath, you see that gold is peeking through, not the glitter. It's an excellent technique to do different spray paint colors when you're doing this distressing with acetone.
There's nowhere on the cup where it's like excellent flat paint. It's all that nice distressing, and part of it even got kind of crackly which I love. Then we're going in with another layer of epoxy. Then after that was dry, I took this little decal I made. It says old ways won't open new doors. I thought it was a cute little saying; I cut it out in black and then did an offset in this gold.
I ended up placing this on by hand because I need help finding a transfer tape that I like, and I have seen scotch tape that works, but I still need to learn about scotch tape in this video. I'm it didn't take that long since it was little. Still, I need to figure this out and improve layered decals. It turned out pretty. I love this orangey glitter dusk and aubergine, a lovely combination. Remember to check out the giveaway on how to win this; I'll have all the details below for you guys. That is it for this video. Remember to come back for my next day of fall cups tomorrow. See you at the next one. Bye.
