DISTRESSED PEEK-A-BOO WATERSLIDE TUMBLER TUTORIAL! Day 5 of 12 Days of Christmas!
https://youtu.be/Aj2SgDUwRLo
Welcome to day five of my 12 Days of Christmas today. We have this Cute small, town Christmas tumbler. I love these cups with the lid with like colored straps. They're so pretty, fun, and different, and I have this as its Distressed paint streak. I don't even know the style, but I love how it turned out so cute, and today I used what came in the Advent box. This is Country Christmas paint color fix paint.
I have Holly Berry today's Advent box. You got glitter glue and two new Christmas paints. They're on the site right now, and I used them on this cup yesterday's glitter. This is Winter Wonderland. It's a chunky mix, so that's the glitter you see peeking through. I will link below, but let's get into this tutorial to ensure you guys come back for day six tomorrow.
I started with this water bottle I got from Walmart, taking off the cap and the Packaging. Then we're going to prep with mattify. Then I'm going to use the new color flex country Christmas paint and go over the whole thing in a nice smooth, even coat. Once that is dry, I'm taking some mixed epoxy in this fast one-to-one set and putting this on the top half of the cup. If I knew what I was doing with the cup, I would have sprinkled glitter on the color-fixed paint, but I needed to figure out what direction I was going with this cup. So that's why the color's dry, and we're doing the epoxy method with the glitter.
Then taking my winter wonderland custom mix and sprinkling that on then, I'm going to ombre it down towards the bottom, only full coverage at the top, and then fade going down and look how pretty this glitter is then because it's a chunky glitter I go on with some like parchment paper and roll it along to flatten out the bigger chunks of glitter this is going to help with your epoxy you're not going to have to do a ton of layers or a bunch of sanding or anything it's going to help make the cup smoother.
Then once that was dry, going on with my next layer of epoxy, I focused on the bottom first so that I didn't get any random stray pieces of glitter down there in case I didn't stick anything down all the way. Then I go on to the top part where the glitter is. When that was dry, I took various colors of color-flex paint. I have Holly Berry French silk teal time steel gray and warm gray, which is cold outside. So we gather around, starting with both of the Grays and taking this stiff brush we're going to take and do random streaks here and there on the cup, and I mix the colors and blot them out that we're not.
This year I'll think about how lucky I'm to have a place where I can come home. I am on my way then, taking French silk on a smaller brush and doing the same thing in between or along those other lines already. I wanted this to look old and distressed like I had painted it over 10 times. All the paint was coming off., So I claimed all these colors matched the SVG file that I got, then went on with the red and teal, and each time I got a little bit smaller with the brush because I didn't want to much of those brighter colors like a little bit of Pops here and the
I kept going back and forth between the colors until I was happy. So I let that dry, and I'm using gold paint. This is when I'm testing to add a few hints of a gold Shimmer here and there. So then I'm taking Sharpies and going in with the gold thing with this mint green Sharpie. So I'm taking a Q-tip, rubbing around, and getting the paint to come off here and there. Then I ended up taking a paper towel and doing the same thing.
That's what it was looking like. You can see it's distressed, then doing Dawn power wash to give me another leaving onlyfect. I'm leaving only a bit of the top and bottom, but Spritz top and bottom. So we get that power wash look, and I'm taking this. It's a rose gold coppery color.
I wanted more than that. I did a second Layer, but I left a little more of the cup exposed to get a little more paint. Thank you, that's what it was looking like. I let that dry, and then we're going on with another layer of epoxy. Then I put on my cap to see where the front would be to ensure my decal gets on the show.
I marked it with this green Sharpie. Still, you can see it peeking through the white, which is fine because this color matches, but if you do not want that to happen, don't do the Sharpie. We're doing a bleach spot right where I marked. Then I'm taking that same metallic paint and going over a little bit. It's not like a pure white cleaning up around the edges of the bleach spot, and then we're going to do our water slide, putting that in the water for about 15 seconds.
We'll slide that onto the Cup, pressing out the water Underneath and laying it out flat. This year I'll think about having a place to come home to. Then once that is dry, I'll go on with some quick seal to seal that before we go on with our next layer of epoxy, then I do one more layer of epoxy to finish off the cup.
I did it off the Turner and put the lid on gather on the fireplace, and no one was about yesterday, and that is how it turned out. It's cute with the colors of the decal, the distressing, and the little bit of glitter peeking through. It's got a lot going on, but it's still beautiful and classy, and I love it. So that's it for this video. Thank you much for watching, and make sure you come back for day six tomorrow bye, guys.
